Troubleshooting

Having trouble with your tag? Check these troubleshooting suggestions:

  1. Check the developer console in the browser, you may see error messages that you can act on.
  2. Double check the site key is correct.
  3. Have you added the tag to the same domain as that of the site, and is the domain name for the site set correctly?
  4. Using cookie consent? You should make sure the tag loads on every page view. But if you have it configured to only load after consent, you'll need to temporarily load it on every page view so that our tag checker can verify it's set up properly. Once verified, you can place the tag behind cookie consent again.
  5. If you have a CSP (Content Security Policy), did you add Hitprobe's domains as detailed on the configure tag page?
  6. There is a limit to sessions available on the free plan. Have you exceeded the number of sessions on your plan? You can check your usage at Account > Usage.
  7. Is a mode setting on the tag preventing a session from being registered?
